Back To School Beauty

Back to school means the coming of FALL. As Summer comes to a close in the next few weeks, and Fall settles in, we will start seeing the signs of Autumn: new colors and trends, pumpkins and holiday preparations, cooler winds and of course, dryer skin.

As you start to bring Fall into the home, or as you're carving them up at Halloween - keep the pulp.  The pulp of a pumpkin has tons of vitamins A & C, as well as zinc - as well as alpha-hydroxy acids. These things are super for your skin, and will help exfoliate naturally, as well as act as antioxidants.

The Hills star Audrina Patrige swears by pumpkin power, saying, "it is so good for your skin because it is full of antioxidants and vitamins.”

To stay in the Fall spirit, try these fun do-it-yourself pumpkin skincare recipes.

PUMPKIN TREATS:

* 1/4 teaspoon milk (or heavy cream, if your skin is super dry)

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Mix all ingredients together, and apply to a clean face with gentle circular motions, avoiding the area around your eyes.
2. Allow mask to remain on skin for 10 to 15 minutes (RELAX!), then rinse with warm water, pat dry, and apply your usual moisturizer.

Pumpkin Scrub
