CLEARLIGHT™ Acne Photoclearing™ Acne Treatment In Carrollton Texas

Turn on the LIGHT! The high-intensity blue-violet light of the the ClearLight™ Photoclearing system is a well-researched and on-invasive treatment to treat moderate and inflammatory acne.  While there is no 'cure' for acne, the ClearLight™ system can effectively eliminate the bacteria that causes acne, thus clearing the skin for many who are effected by the embarrassing and painful bumps and boils that are cystic acne.

This FDA-Approved treatment is fairly quick (around a half hour) and there is no pain or downtime. It's a drug-free alternative to other topical and oral acne treatments. This is key; because it's said that 40% of bacteria that causes acne is resistant to oral antibiotics. The acne treatment itself is often thought of as relaxing, as you sit and listen to music under the therapeutic light. It's suitable for all areas of the body - including the face, back, neck and chest. ClearLight™ is recommended in a series of several treatments - 8-10 over 4-5 weeks - to achieve optimal results.

A Cure For Razor Burn, Bumps and Ingrown Hairs

If we haven't yet given you enough evidence that laser hair removal is FAR superior to waxing or shaving,, then you might still be experiencing ingrown hairs and razor burn bumps. Of course, the heat from the laser during a laser hair removal treatment kills the bacteria that gathers under the skin and in the follicles preventing this bothersome side effect. But if you're still shaving and waxing and getting these rascally razor rashes, and you aren't ready to zap them with the laser - we have some a product you need to know about. It's called Tend Skin® solution, and it is a great topical treatment for these painful bumps and ingrown hairs.

Of course, the guys get a hall pass because we do not do laser hair reduction on the face typically.  (although it has been done, every situation is case by case and tailored to suit your skincare needs) But - anywhere you shave - there is opportunity for razor bumps and razor burn. This itchy situation occurs when the growing facial hairs either are pulled, curl over and under and back into the follicle, (backwards) resulting in a bump. And since there's usually some bacteria residing on the skin, these can easily become inflamed and infected. Of course, if the bumps aren't from shaving - then they are probably ingrown. (on their own) Ingrown hairs occur when hair has been shaved, waxed or removed - and it's growing back in, or trying - and fails to make it out of the skin surface.  The hairs curl inside the follicles back under itself, and under the skin creating a similar spot, and possible inflamed or infected bump.

Tend Skin® can be used before shaving, waxing or even before laser hair removal, because it acts as an antiseptic and 'bump preventative' if you will.  At Fit and Beautiful Medical Spa, we're always looking for ways to help you be your most fit and beautiful, as well as resolve skincare issues along the way.  Ready to try Tend Skin® Solution? Give us a call or stop by for a bottle today.

Chemical Peels For Clear Glowing Skin

Chemical peels are popular for a number of reasons, but primarily because they are quick, performed in-office, and offer great results for fresh, glowing skin. The treatment is a process of applying an acid solution directly to your skin, removing damaged outer layers of skin. It removes the damaged skin by effectively damaging the skin cells it wants to remove. These tiny injuries to the skin cells stimulate the body's healing process to grow new skin, thus beginning the cycle of skin renewal.

It can be done on the face, neck, hands, back - or anywhere that you'd like to enhance and smooth the skin, but it's mostly done on the face. It's a great preventative AND treatment for acne, fine lines and wrinkles as well as some minor pigmentation issues.

There are several types of chemical peels, and we try to fit the right peel to the patient. The standard peels are done with direct acid solutions of either lactic acid, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid. Of these three, the salicylic is usually the one we recommend for acne-pron patients. All three are good for general rejuvenation and to exfoliate the top layers of skin.

We also offer custom peels by SkinMedica, such as the Illuminize, Vitalize, and Rejuvenize Peel. These are custom mixtures, acid solutions containing several ingredients.

Vitalize Peel helps fight the effects of time, sun damage, and environmental assaults. This powerful yet non-damaging peel can take years off aging skin. There is a peel for all skin types, and these designer skin peels address a number of skin conditions from pigmentation, adult acne, wrinkles, and more.

The SkinMedica peels are quite powerful; as are other types of acids in more standard chemical peels. Therefore, you always want a physician or certified/licensed esthetician to perform this procedure.

From SkinMedica.com: Chemical peels are divided into several categories based on their degree of intensity. The stronger the acids used in a peel, the more injury to the skin occurs. Though they are capable of producing the most skin rejuvenation, deep peels necessitate longer recovery periods and carry a greater risk of complications.
